Now, you don’t have to go to a bank or an SSS office to pay your SSS loan. With the Real-Time Processing of Loans (RTPL), you can pay your SSS loan using GCash on your mobile phone and save time and effort settling your dues.

A few short-term loans are provided by the Social Security System (SSS) to its members who are in need of financial assistance for personal reasons or in the event of a natural disaster. In addition to the salary loan, SSS has a disaster loan to assist victims of natural disasters in getting back on their feet. In order to avoid accumulating interest and penalties that make it more difficult to repay your SSS loan in the future, make sure to pay your loan well before the due date.

However, the SSS offers loans at a more lenient rate than banks. If you fail to repay your loan and default, the SSS will not send debt collectors to hound you. Legal action will not be threatened against you if you don’t pay off your debt. If you have an unpaid SSS loan, you will not be able to apply for another one. As a result of your retirement, disability, or death, your outstanding loan balance will eventually be deducted from the benefits you or your beneficiaries will receive.

In order to avoid that, you should pay your SSS loan as soon as you can, preferably before the due date. Due to the popularity of online banking and electronic wallet (e-wallet) apps like GCash, you can pay your SSS loan on time. With GCash, you can pay your SSS loan with a few clicks; simply download the app, add money to your wallet, and enter the payment details. Paying your SSS dues doesn’t require you to visit a branch or partner bank.

Step 3: Click on “SSS Loans – RTPL”

In the government institution list, scroll down and tap “SSS Loans – RTPL” (if you don’t know, RTPL stands for Real-Time Processing of Loans).

Click on “SSS Loans – RTPL”

Step 4: Enter the details of your SSS loan payment

This is the most important step of the process – entering your SSS loan payment information. It’s okay, we’ll simplify this process to help you avoid any mistakes.

Enter the details of your SSS loan payment

Please enter the following information in their corresponding fields:

  • PRN –

You need to enter the payment reference number (PRN) for the loan payment or amortization. If you are logged into My.SSS, you can find your PRN by clicking “PRN – LOANS.” The next section of this article contains more detailed instructions.

  • Account Number –

You need to enter the account number of your loan. This is not your Social Security number! In your My.SSS account, click “PRN – LOANS” to find your loan account number.

  • Payor Type –

Most of the time, this should be “Individual.”

  • Country –

Choose “Philippines” if you live in the Philippines.

  • Amount –

You will need to enter an exact amount (including centavos). If your loan is consolidated, enter the exact amount.

  • Email Address –

It is optional to do this. You will receive a notification and receipt via email once you enter your email.

Press “NEXT” when you have entered all the required information.

Step 5: Verify your payment information

Make sure that all of your payment information is correct. Please double-check the PRN you entered as GCash cannot verify its accuracy. Using the wrong PRN could invalidate the transaction and result in your money being lost.

Click “CONFIRM” once you’ve checked and confirmed your SSS loan payment details.

Verify your payment information

Step 6: Congratulations! Your payment has been successful!

You will receive your SSS loan payment in real time if everything goes according to plan. GCash will send you a text message when that happens. In the text message, it will say, “Your transaction has been processed for SSS Loans – RTPL with fee P0.00 and your payment has been posted in real time.

When you submit your GCash payment, what happens if you encounter an error? Firstly, you can check if your payment was deducted from your GCash balance. In this case, you can try making the payment again as the transaction is likely to have failed if your balance is intact.

If the amount has already been deducted from your GCash balance, then your SSS loan payment was successful. Once the transaction has been successfully completed, you will receive a text message.

How to Get Your SSS Payment Reference Number (PRN)

You must have a payment reference number to pay your SSS loan. You cannot pay your SSS loan with GCash or any other online payment platform without the payment reference number.

It is best to login to your My.SSS account to learn what your PRN is. Click the “PRN – LOANS” link on the navigation menu once you’re logged into your SSS account. On this page, you will find your loans account information.

The “ACTIVE LOAN/S WITH PRN (FOR THE MONTH)” section contains information about your active loan, including:

  • Payment Reference Number (PRN)
  • Loan Type
  • Loan Date
  • Loan Account Number
  • Total Amount of Obligation
  • Amount Due
  • Amount to Be Paid
